He just worked on a Mini Wagon for a friend and he liked the work he did. May give him a call and see what he says. Good Luck.

Richard.

Many thanks for the info. Still trying to work on a plan, and have not yet got the car back from the initial examination.

It's been a few years but in 2011 I paid about $1900 to ship my Mini in an enclosed trailer from Seattle to McKinney. Most of the shipping companies quotes were pretty similar. Good lcuk.

The guy who bought my vandalized project Mini about a year ago lives in Denver.  He and a friend of his took turns driving from Denver to Shreveport in the family SUV - rented a U-Haul two-wheel dolly when they got here - and then drove to my house.  We pushed the car onto the dolly - lashed it down - and the two of them headed back to Denver.  His only cost was for gasoline, one-way dolly rental, and food along the way.

There are some shops in the Dallas area that can work on Minis, my first suggestion would be British Auto Specialists in Haltom City as their mechanic Lloyd was using a Mk 1 848 Mini for a daily driver.    I haven't talked to him in a while though.

If you need help moving the car from Houston north I can probably lend a hand,  I have a small trailer for an open tow and I built a box on my good car hauler when I was moving my wife north from south of Laredo.

Cheers,

Jim.

Many, many thanks on the offer. I am still working on the best way to do this but have not been able to make a decision yet. I will let you know.
